As part of the South African Health Product Regulatory Authority’s (SAHPRA) Digitalisation Project, we launched the SAHPRA Engagement Portal on Monday, 04 November 2024. The first phase of the phased roll-out is to have all users start the User Account creation process.

The SAHPRA Engagement Portal Communication was published on 6 November 2024, as part of SAHPRA’s ongoing digitalization efforts. This phased roll-out aims to streamline engagement with SAHPRA, enabling stakeholders such as Authorized Persons, Responsible Pharmacists, and Key Users to interact with SAHPRA through a secure, centralized platform.

Launched on 4 November 2024, the SAHPRA Engagement Portal allows organizations and individuals to create user accounts that facilitate streamlined communication with SAHPRA. The portal aims to improve efficiency and data management, particularly with upcoming preparations for legacy application listing verification and data migration.

Authorized Persons, Responsible Pharmacists, and Key Users are encouraged to start by creating accounts. These users will oversee their organizations' engagements with SAHPRA. Annexure A provides a quick guide for organizations to register and manage user accounts on the portal.

Organizational Administrators can invite new users, including individual members or additional administrators, who will receive email invitations for account creation. Organizations can add linked entities (sub-divisions), allowing hierarchical management of related organizations.

Administrators can update organization details, manage users, and view associated subdivisions. The portal allows SAHPRA administrators to manage internal users, invite new users, and oversee all registered organizations and their respective users, enhancing SAHPRA’s ability to support external engagements efficiently.

In January 2025, SAHPRA will begin data verification and clean-up for legacy applications, preparing the organization for migration to the new system. Organizations are encouraged to coordinate internally for data accuracy during this process.

This platform offers stakeholders a secure, organized way to engage with SAHPRA on regulatory matters. The portal will play a critical role in preparing for the transition to a fully digitalized system.

For detailed registration guidance, stakeholders can access the portal and start the process at SAHPRA Engagement Portal or reach out via email at applicationsupport@sahpra.org.za for additional support for more details click this LINK.
